Our regional Photo Clubs Council is opening the 2024 Traveling Image Salon for 2024.
Members of NWCCC photography clubs are invited to submit digital images for inclusion in the Traveling Image Salon for 2024. The images will be viewed and rated by the member clubs on a monthly basis and judged for the 2024 NWCCC Conference in November.

To participate in this year's TIS our Club, the Bellingham Photography Club, needs a minimum of 20 images and a maximum of 25, with a maximum of three images per person. Images must be submitted by January 29, 2024.
Please select your images soon and get them to David Johnson, BPC Image Director, as soon as possible.
Congratulation to two Bellingham Photography Club members who won awards in the Northwest Council of Camera Club's Traveling Image Salon for 2023.
These awards were announced at the NWCCC's Conference held November 11, 2023

Dennis also received an Honorable Mention for "Mt. Baker Milky Way".
Scott Pratschner was awarded an Honorable Mention for "Light Rider at Cedar Dust".
April 29th the NWCCC will hold an in-person Matting and Framing Workshop at the Everett Library.

The Bellingham Photography Club (BPC) is participating in the 2023 Northwest Council of Camera Clubs (NWCCC) Traveling Image Salon (TIS).
NWCCC Member Clubs submit 20-25 images for a "traveling" image salon where participating clubs rates images each month with a final adjudication prior to the NWCCC Conference in November.

This year's NWCCC Conference will be held at the Brightwater Center, Woodenville, Washington, on Sunday November 12th, 2022.
Kristi Odem (www.kristiodomfineart.com) will present two keynote speeches for registrants who are attending in-person: "Visual Storytelling and the Power of Emotion" and "Photographing the Birds and Bees".
On-line classes will be held Sunday, November 12th through Thursday, November 17th.
Instructors will include Mike Moats (tinylandscapes.com) "Tiny Landscapes", Steve Ball (@old_steve 1) "Bird Photography", Dennis Decklow (doubleexposure.ca) "Creative Vision" and Rich Seiling (richseiling.com) "Black & White Fine Art Printing".
Other instructors information and registration are at the Northwest Council of Camera Club's website: (nwcameraclubs.org). Registration is only $60 for the entire conference. Classes can be viewed online until March 31st, 2023.

Rare noctilucent clouds in Mount Vernon, Washington. July 1, 2022 3:43 am from the Anderson southbound on-ramp. Shot with my iPhone 13, hand held, 0.5 second ƒ1.6, ISO 1600. These "clouds" were very visible and not ordinary clouds. They totally disappeared before dawn to a cloud-less sky. I don't know about the squiggly cloud in the upper right.

The format for the Conference will be similar to last year with in-person attendance (optional) at the Brightwater Water Treatment Plant in Woodenville on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Attendees will be able to view the Open Print Salon and Awards Ceremony and 2 talks by Kristi. On-line classes will be held Sunday through Thursday; and all sessions available recorded for a period of time.
Suggestions for class presenters and topics are welcome.

The Bellingham Photography Club is participating in the 2022 NWCCC's Traveling Image Salon Competition.
You may view the BPC's images here. Feel free to make comments, or vote as outlined below.
Each month our Club will view images from the TIS participating clubs and Club Members selecting the top five images.
This link will take you to see the images to select your 5 votes.
Select the monthly best 5 images based on the standards of Technical, Composition and Impact Excellence along with Story or Beyond the Ordinary or an Emotion that resonates over personal biases.
Report your 5 votes by three-digit identifier to David Johnson.
Adjustments might be made in this process. This is the first month and your votes are needed before the end of March.

Some inside information - there have been quite a few digital entries, but very few prints, and slideshows are notoriously lightly entered. Better chances to win awards with prints this year, and slideshows, as always.

"The dead line for entry in this years Open Print Salon is October 1st. It is time to get your prints made and mounted by the deadline. The Rules and Entry Form are available at the NWCCC website nwcameraclubs.org under competitions. Please pass on to your members and have them read the rules. The prints and awards will be on display at the 2021 NWCCC Conference, November 13th."

In order to complete the TIS for final judging before the November Conference the following deadlines have been changed:
- For September images you will have Sept 1st - Sept 24th to vote and return your September reports
- For October images you will have Sept 25 – Oct 14 to vote and return your October reports
All TIS images will be removed from view on October 15th.

The Conference will have an in-person Print Salon and Keynote Speaker presentation on Saturday, November 13. Online classes, like last year, will be offered the following week and recorded with availability to registered participants until the end of the year.
